Effects on the Central Nervous System
Brain
The brain is among the first organs to be affected when alcohol is consumed. Nerves in the brain pass messages to the body, but drinking slows down its process. When alcohol is consumed 80% of the alcohol goes to the small intestines while the remaining 20% goes to the heart. There on the heart pumps the alcohol throughout the body. The first organ that is affected is the central nervous system.

The Cerebal Cortex
Effects are controlled by certain parts of the brain

Areas And Their Roles
Ceberal Cortex: This the entire brain. High intake of alcohol will make the individual more relaxed.
Front Lobes: This part controls decision making and self control. When this part is affected the drinker may have little to no control over his/her decisions and actions.
Cerebellum: This area of the brain takes part an individual's coordination and awareness. Once alcohol affects this area, walking properly and standing may become a hard task.
Hippocampus: This part of the brain contains our memories. Trouble remembering, concentrating, and learning are clues that the hippocampus has been harmed by alcohol. (Black outs are also possible if consumption is high)

Did You Know?
The human brain does not stop developing until 20-25 years of age, so damages prior to the brain's full development can lead to permanent brain damages.
